OPUS PLASMA

You have probably heard of laser skin resurfacing. Would you like an option that offers CO2 laser-like results without the significant downtime and pain that it brings? Enter Opus Plasma.

La Touche Élite Aesthetics is proud to offer this new technology to its clients. Opus Plasma is the first of its kind in fractional technology. It uses high frequency unipolar radiofrequency energy to create tiny channels in the skin. This causes collagen production through wound healing. This technique is similar to microneedling, however this procedure uses microplasma technology for skin resurfacing.

Whereas lasers use light energy that creates columns through the skin’s layers, Opus Plasma uses plasma energy and is limited to the surface of the skin, removing a small fraction of the skin, stimulating the surrounding skin to repair itself. This significantly reduces downtime.

The metal pins of the Opus Plasma device are charged with radiofrequency, which reacts with atmospheric pressure in order to create the plasma, which creates the microinjuries on the surface of the skin. The radiofrequency energy creates heat in the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production, which helps tighten the skin.

Although laser treatments can produce the same technique, the use of microplasma comes with unparalleled precision when controlling contact with the skin and reducing unwanted inflammation. This is the first fractional skin resurfacing treatment that works well on darker skin types. This device uses fractionated plasma, which makes the technology much safer.

When referring to plasma, this does not mean plasma from the blood. Plasma is actually a type of energy. It is the fourth state of matter.

While plasma devices exist on the market, opus plasma is the first device that channels the plasma into fractions with customizable intensity. Opus plasma is not considered a laser.

“Fractional plasma will change how we think about resurfacing. If full-field CO2 technology was resurfacing 1.0, and fractional technology was resurfacing 2.0, fractional plasma technology is resurfacing 3.0. It can produce results to match the most aggressive CO2 laser or the gentlest laser peel in a fraction of the procedure time and much less patient downtime. The results we’re seeing with Opus Plasma are quite impressive, even after just one treatment.”

This treatment itself takes about 15 minutes to complete. Plan to be at the office for approximately 60-75 minutes. Treatment time is dependent on the treatment plan. The area to be treated is numbed with a topical anesthetic for at least 45 minutes.
