As we age, we inevitably develop wrinkles. The body’s ability to produce natural oils decreases. The skin becomes drier and more fragile. Fat deposits under the skin also decrease, leading to sagging skin, hence the formation of lines and wrinkles. Repetitive facial expressions can also lead to wrinkle formation. These include but are not limited to smiling, squinting, and raising the eyebrows. With aging, the ability of the skin to bounce back to its resting position decreases, leading to permanent grooves in the skin surface.
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body that helps to not only keep bones and joints healthy, but keeps the skin looking youthful. In the skin, it lies between the top layer (epidermis) and the subcutaneous tissue. Its production in the skin decreases with aging, leading to loss of structure. Factors that enhance collagen breakdown include:
- UV light exposure
- Stress – increased stress leads to an increase in cortisol production which leads to a decrease in collagen production
- Unhealthy habits:
- Smoking – Nicotine narrows the blood vessels and decreases blood flow to the skin
- Diet – An unhealthy diet leads to lack of vital nutrients needed to maintain healthy skin
- Pollution – Though unavoidable at times, traffic pollution is very toxic to skin. It causes inflammation and an over absorption of collagen in the body; more than the body can replenish.

Wrinkle Treatments Reviews
I absolutely LOVE Jeanine of La Touche Elite Aesthetics in Myrtle beach! As a 50+ year old 1/2 Asian American woman who has been a customer for 3 years, I would highly recommend and strongly encourage anyone interested in looking younger and more vibrant to try their services like wrinkle treatments, skin resurfacing and dermal filler for lips and face. As a NYC transplant to Myrtle Beach, I have been to a few cosmetic/aesthetic service businesses and have been disappointed by the lack of professional experience and quality of service. I’ve NEVER been disappointed with La Touche Elite Aesthetics services as Jeanine REALLY KNOWS a woman’s face regardless of your ethnicity. Jeanine has a friendly professional demeanor who will give you reasonable advice based on your specific needs.

About UsWrinkle Treatments FAQs
Will it hurt?
Pain is very subjective, so everyone’s experience will vary. The vast majority of clients describe the injections as a pinch. A very small fine needle is used; as such, one should expect minimal discomfort. No local anesthetic is used, but we can utilize various methods to help make the experience a more pleasurable one.
Will all my wrinkles disappear?
When you first come in for a consultation, your needs will be addressed. Realistic expectations will be set. For some fine lines and wrinkles, neuromodulator treatment will be sufficient. In other cases, other alternatives may need to be employed to aid in static wrinkles (wrinkles that remain apparent at rest). These may include a chemical peel, dermal filler, or a skin resurfacing treatment.
When will I see results?
Again, everyone responds differently. Some people start seeing effects within the first 3 – 5 days. We encourage you to wait at least 12 days (14 days optimal) to see the effects of your treatment.
How long will my treatment last?
On average, results last 3 – 4 months. It is important to mention that everyone responds differently to medications. As such, some people may see results lasting more or less time than the average time. Dose is directly related to the duration of results. As the practitioner becomes more acquainted with your personal response, the dose can be adjusted accordingly to meet your needs.
What if I still notice wrinkles after my initial appointment?
At La Touche Élite Aesthetics, we highly encourage clients to follow up with their two week post-treatment appointment. This will provide the opportunity to address any further needs and assess each client’s response to their treatment.
Will I look fake?
Gone are the days of looking at someone and knowing they had something done. At La Touche Élite Aesthetics, our goal is to utilize your natural beauty as a foundation upon which we can build natural-looking results. It is our aim to ensure that you are able to still be expressive while decreasing the appearance of wrinkles.
How much time do I need to recover from injections?
The great thing about neuromodulator treatment is the decreased downtime. After injections, you will notice small skin wheals at each site. These should have subsided by the end of the appointment. A detailed post-treatment instruction will be provided to each client, listing all activities to avoid. Typically, for the first four hours after treatment, we advise that you avoid activities that apply pressure to the treated area, excessive exercise, and excessive sweating.
